Giorgio Chiellini has insisted that winning the elusive Champions League is not his main focus in his first year as captain.

The Bianconeri last tasted success in the UCL in 1996, but have gone on to lose five finals, whilst dominating domestically.

Chiellini has been a mainstay in the Juventus squad, winning numerous domestic titles, but is yet to win the UCL.

And when asked if the continental showpiece will be his concern, he responded.

“No,” he told Football Italia. “We will aim to win everything as always.

“Now, we have the chance to relax with peace and calmness. Then it will be a great year just like the last ones, I am sure about that.”
