Chris Paul has stated he will pay any fine resulting from teammate, Gerald Green being ejected, after he shoved Timberwolves center, Gorgui Dieng.

Green was ejected for coming to Paul’s defense in the fourth quarter of Rockets 129-120 win over Timberwolves on Saturday.

Dieng, frustrated pushed a bent over Paul, after a foul, with 10 minutes to play for and Houston leading 109-96.

The former Clippers man had fouled Dieng, slapping the ball out of his hands and was chasing the loose ball, before he was shoved.

Green reacted immediately, taking big strides towards the pair, and shoving Dieng in the forearm and back.

Players of both teams converged on the court before calm was restored.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Paul said he would pay any fine stemming from the incident.

Green sounded contrite after the game.

“I’m just trying to be there for my teammate,” Green said. “I saw something happen and I reacted. I paid the consequences for it. I learned my lesson, got ejected, try not to do that again, and hopefully we’re going to move forward from this.”
